This will be the 5th day in a row that I’m writing 15 minutes about something that comes up in my mind. This is a simple but wonderful exercise that can shape anyone’s mind, I definitely recommend this.

Tonight I’ve decided to take a ride under the rabbit hole and see how deep it can go.

What if we are not able to make decisions?

Everywhere we go we have decisions to make and all of them have an heavy weight on our live’s. It can become a burden for the rest of our lives and make us lose important things to us like our trust, our job, our loved ones, even our inner courage and self-confidence. Since they are part of our daily life actions we think we can evaluate carefully every single one of them like our good old risk taking decisions. We believe we weight our losses above anything else because they will be our deprivations from failure and so we might risk taking some decisions if we can win more then what we can lose.

We believe we are making a choice, a logical choice, a sum of values, a decision between left or right, but what really is happening is that our brain makes our own decisions and it feels like it’s our own free will.

We only think twice for two reasons: we don’t want to accept our choice or we don’t know what to choose. Most of the times it’s both.

So why is difficult to say “yes" or “no" when we feel like it. The truth is that in some decision-making situations our choice has already been made and we are simply striving to understand it.

Don’t take me wrong, we do go into a cognitive process when weighting possibilities it’s just they are not being evaluated by us…

I hope you have enjoyed this and good luck in making your own decisions.

Cheers,
